On To Acadia

What a beautiful drive. Wow, Bar Harbor and Acadia are up there! Again, I suggest packing food, especially if you're driving from as far south as Lewiston like us. There are plenty of places to stop and enjoy a nice picnic while the kids explore the area.

If you have a Park Pass this is a wonderful way to spend a day, or camp in the area and spend a weekend, without emptying your wallets.

They give you a brochure when you arrive and you can go to the gift shop and buy "Motorist Guide Park Loop Road" for $1.90. Worth the two bucks. That way you don't miss things like "Thunder Hole." The kids could watch the wave crash all day. It was amazing.

Or you would miss the sites at Sand Beach. This is a very small beach, but a nice area to stop and picnic and cool off. Well, if 50-60 degree water temps is your idea of cooling off. The kids didn't seem to mind, neither did the foreigners. WOW! Nice floatie!

We spent a day there and only saw a few of the wonders of Acadia. I can't wait to go back and see what else we can discover.
